Default Extra road noise?

I am hearing some extra road noise that I have not heard before. I think its crept in gradually over the last 2 weeks.

Anyway, what I hear sounds like what I want to call 'harmonics' from I assume my tires on the road. It sounds like have I big old truck tries on my accord. Its louder the faster I go. The tires are very new, and don't have any noticeable wear.

Could I need an alignment? Tire rotation? What would be the first things to check? I don't really know much about cars, so if it needs to be looked at where should I take it? Somewhere like Big-O? I don't want to get screwed...

Thanks.

Its probably your tires. Crappy tires with hard compounds or snow tires are very loud.

02RSX could be right. If you have crappy tires, they could just have deteriorated from use. Basically, a tire hardens from repeated heatings, and if you have a Korean tire, that happens about a month after you buy them.

There's a million other reasons if it's not crappy tires..it's hard to say since we can't hear the sound. The simplest things would be:

-underinflated tires
-worn tires
-alignment
-wheel balance

Have you hit the curb or a big pothole recently?

I don't understand why people buy cheap tires then mod their cars. Tires make the single biggest difference in handling and feel and a significant distance in acceleration and deceleration.

Another possibility is that you have "flat spots" on your tires. Have you braked hard enough as to have the wheels lock and you performed a lengthy skid? Or has the car been inactive for a long period of time?

I wouldn't call kumho 712's a very good tire...I'm talking the Falken Azenis, Bridgestone Potenzas, Dunlop SP9000s, and Pirelli P7000s of the world.
