Bro's car
My brothers having some issues with his 1993 honda accord its all stock except for some rims on it, he said that the cel light comes on when he goes over 70-75mph but goes off when he shuts the car off and doesnt come on again untill he gets back up to those speeds. Has anyone else had this problem? And how can he read the code off of it Auto zone said they cant do it.

remove the carpet from the passenger side kick panel and u'll see the computer and a red LED light on it.
tell him to drive adn get to 70mph and when he gets back, dont shut off the car. look at the red light after taht and write down how many times it blinks. other than that, i think it might be his speed sensor, but not sure. i'll have to check on it. |
thanks alot man is there a chart with what the blinks means somewhere?

actually, i forgot u had a 93 accord. teh blinking system only came until the 90 accord model.
So here's what u gotta do. Dont' take off that carpet. Right behind teh glove box (u dont have to take it out) is a two wire connector, pull that out. Its just a female socket w/ no male end. and when teh check engine light comes on, do not turn off the car, and jump the connector w/ a paper clip (stick each end of the paper clip in each insert of the connector) then the Check Engine Light will blink a certain number of times. First u'll have long blinks adn then quick short blinks. for example. if it blinks 1 long blink and 5 short blinks. its a code 15 if it blinke 4 long blinks and 1 short blink. its code 41. tell him to find out what that code is. im' pretty sure its code 17, which is the speed sensor, but have him make sure. |
