Default 04 Accord V4; New Wheels? Slow speeds..

Basically, I received this from my parents when I was 18. Now I'm ready to upgrade the wheels to something I like. 18" Chrome, 5 spoke. Something that looks decently classy but also a little sporty.
I like the TSW Montage but I need more ideas! Ideas would be wonderful.
I've got a black sedan, by the way.

Also, I didn't get to choose a v6, but now that I do have a v4, is there anything I can do to help the acceleration of this car?

Appreciate any help!

Erm... people stopped building V-4 engines eons ago.
You have an inline 4 cylinder engine.

To give your 4-cylinder Accord a worthwhile boost in performance (60+hp on a daily basis), you're looking at a substantial investment.

An aftermarket intake and exhaust system will produce relatively small gains and a lot of noise. I'd focus on suspension first, with a solution that still provides a decent ride quality while lowering the car about 1.5 inches. (i.e., shocks and lowering springs, possibly coilovers).

There's nothing "classy" or "sporty" about 18inch chrome wheels. The sheer weight of those rims will make your car even slower btw.

By adding a wheel of that size onto the Accord, it'll actually look like you raised the car. On top of it, you'll be spending another 1G+ on suspension parts to make it look normal again. (coilovers, camber kit, installation, etc)

If you want a bit more acceleration, look into dumping weight, not adding it on. Lose the 100lb sub in the trunk if you have one.

If you're that unhappy with the accleration, there's really not much you can do besides save up to buy another car or spend some serious cash on it. You could make a $1000 investment into the engine and still only get 15-20 horsepower at most, which would be barely noticeable.

Look into a set of OEM Acura or Honda Accessory wheels, like these:

Most Honda/Acura wheels are 17", the RL A-SPEC ones are 18" but very expensive.

Go with 17" wheels, never do 18s if you plan to give your car a sporty look. If you want to upgrade do the basics intake/header/exhuast. It will improve a little bit of performace and gives your car a good sound.

Default 17" Rt5?

Really, I'm afraid I'm gonna get them on and they are gonna look too small.
I understand they will add quite a bit of weight, I guess I'd still rather have the wheels then loss of a little bit of acceleration.
I'm happy with the ride, I guess I will just have to accept that its not going to get faster until my next car.

If I can go with 17" I was thinking about going with the Chrome Motegi RT5's.

What do ya'll think?
Thanks for the opinions, like I said- I'm learning...

and maybe I misled you by saying "sporty."

I want a decently sporty look but thats not 100% necessary. I know my car isn't very sporty and I don't mind the look that chrome gives to the cars. Is 18" still too big for this car?

18 is gigantic to tell ya the truth. You can do it, but you'll expose such tiny rotors and disc brakes behind the alloy. An inch makes a world of difference (ew), so I'd stick with a 17.

Make sure to read the weight of the rim before purchasing. Lower priced = heavier wheel = poor acceleration = bad gas millage.

I really think that 17s look best. 18s are by no means sporty, they'd only be worth it if you wanted to show off a big brake upgrade...

But then heck, if you like 18s get 18s. Chrome is fugly IMO, but to each his own.

Where should I find the specs of the rim? From the manufacturer or if I am buying from ebay the seller himself?
Its a motegi 17" RT5
