Accord Si
Hi All,
I'm new to the forum.
Was wondering your opinion of the possibility of Honda coming out with an Accord Si in the future, maybe with the new 2008 Honda Accord coupe.
Below is a hypothetical example, but being a Honda fan, it'd be great:
3.5 liter V6 w/VTEC & VCM
275 hp
250 tq
6-speed manual
FWD LSD or AWD
Cold air intake
Performance tuned exhaust
Coupe body style
3300 lbs max weight
0-60 in 5.5 seconds
Your feedback would be appreciated.

As much as I would LOVE to see an accord si in the future, I don't see it happening. They just put out the new civic si coupe and sedan:slap: so it's not very likely that they would. I could be wrong though...
Oh god, this whole Accord Si topic blew up on driveaccord. I think the only things you're going to get on that list are the 6MT and the coupe body style. Maybe LSD and VCM, but pretty doubtful that it would be on a 3.5L.
I know everyone told you on the other forum, but there's just no way Honda can have an Accord that's better than a TL; it would cannibalize all the sales of the TL. You're going to have to wait until the new TL comes out or for the new TL to get a bump in power before the Accord can be allowed to have that much power.
You can quote magazines and the numbers for all the competitors all you want, but it just wouldn't be feasible for a company to compete with itself like that.

It's not reasonable for a company to do that; they specifically plan products not to overlap like that. Yes it's all one family, but you won't see an Accord with those specs unless the TL is better or discontinued. Take a look at the RSX and Civic Si if you don't think companies operate like this.
Just look at the car he described. It's equal to or better than the TL-S, but would be expected to be at Accord-like prices. Would you pay several thousand more for a car that is the same or not as good?

Thats the exact reason the prelude was discontinued, because they wanted to bring out the acura integra/rsx and the prelude was cheaper. Acuras are supposed to be high end hondas anyway, so why would they make the accord better than the TL???
Me too, I know how you feel. There's a really nice, clean RSX with a nice body kit thats not too tacky built up with a nice exhaust that I see at least once a day on campus and it makes me sad.
