Default 04 Radio Problems... PLEASE HELP!!!

I have installed an aftermarket pioneer 980BT premier head unit into my accord and disconnected the factory radio... however the wiring harness allows it to still have power so the display works and you can use the climate control. I had it all hooked up and there were NO problems at all and everything worked beautifully. Then I got into my car one day and turned on the lights because it was dark out and learned that the whole center was dead... all of my display and climate controls didnt light up at all. The last time something like this happened it was a 7.5A fuse called ACC that had blown and I checked it and it's fine and even replaced it for arguements sake. still no display or lights. I am at a loss and the factory want to charge me 100 bucks to look at it they are nuts... I am hoping someone has seen this before or may have some insight as to what it may be and how to fix it.. I know it's getting power because my headunit works and you can hear it shuffle the disc changer when you replace the fuse... anyone have any ideas??

Secondly I have feedback to my speakers now that I have never had also. As I accelerate you can hear it in the speakers and it's extremely annoying... Any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it?? Thanks

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure I understand. So is the factory stereo like, integrated into the climate control panel? I'd say remove the factory stereo all together but maybe that isn't possible if it is somehow -part- of the dash. Anyway, I'd start by checking all my connections and making sure there aren't any exposed wires (even one's that might not be needed by the new pioneer deck) and no shorts. I just installed a DEH-3700 (not nearly as nice as a premier 9 series) but it was just a matter of removing the old factory unit and putting the pioneer deck in.

Not sure about 04s, but this is my story. 2003 Accord EX-L, 4 cyl, 4 door. At 70k kms all the lights on radio/cd changer/climate console died. All the controls were still working flawlessly. I tripple checked all the fuses under the hood and in the cabin to no avail. Did a search here and discovered that it's been a common issue with 03 accords. Went to a Honda dealer and it turned out they were aware of this problem and replaced entire unit ($800 Cnd) for free. I paid $80 for labor. Possible this problem has migrated to 04s.

Hope this helps

Like Vlad said, this is a known problem with the center stack lights going out on 7th gen Accords and also on 2004 TSX. Since this is a known Honda/Acura Problem, I would change it back to stock and take it to the dealer so they don't try to blame it on your new headunit.
