1992 Honda Accord Shakes Alot

i have a 92 accord, it shakes alot like in the steering wheel and stuff when in gear if i am sitting at lights and stuff, not as bad when not in gear, its an automatic, just wondering if this would be the crank pully, and i also have problems with it shifting it takes a long time any suggestions would be nice

More info please

Is the idle shake associated with an ignition miss or are there any other problems like wont come out of park unless you trigger the shift interlock manually.

"steering wheel and stuff"

Well if the engine is considered "stuff" you may want to replace engine/tranny mounts.

Sounds like maybe a cracked motor mount.

Bad rear motor mount is famous for that.

i have an automatic 92. i replaced the dog bone motor mount on mine. improved the shake alot. u notice it more when u back up. just open the hood and look straight down in front of u..right in front. ive not replaced any of the other 3. these r 4 cyclinder engines there will be some vibration at idle.

what problems shifting? u moving the gear shift thru the gears or the tranny shifting itself while driving?

i will have to check the mount but it takes a while to shift itself and it shifts really hard and the car will pull to the side when it shifts

can anyone show me a pic of what the mount would look like broken, sorry i work on my own cars and everthing but never really had any mounts break

im having the same problem in my '99 accord. its most likely the motor mounts.

get up under it in the rear see if the metal arm for the rear mount has come loose or broken off its vacuum actuated and a pain in the butt to replace
