What's the best replacement headlight?
 

One of the headlight on my Accord burnt out, I'm looking for a replacement headlight. Are there any brighter non-xenon lights? Are the Sylvania SilverStars good? Thanks.

I use the Silverstars, and I love them. I instantly saw an improvement in brightness and clarity, plus to me it's a more pleasing, whiter light.

They are so bright that sometimes I get flashed by drivers on the road that think I have my high beams on.

While searching I found some mentioned PIAA XTREME WHITE PLUS 4000K / 4150K bulbs, they are really expensive at around $90 per pair, do they really give out more light (lumens) then SilverStar? Does anyone have a direct comparison picture? Thanks.

I don't know about the light comparison. I have had my SilverStars last for over a year before. A pair will run you around $35 at Checker or Autozone.

What precaution should I take when installing the new bulb? I'm going to wear a rubber glove so no grease gets on the bulb. Anything else? Thanks.

Well, if the cable harness is on there really tight, I like to hold on with one hand, keeping the tab up, and then go back and forth on the sides/top edge with a thick flathead screwdriver to help push it down.

To release the bulb, you have twist it so the tabs clear, and then pull it out. As long as you DO NOT touch the glass part of the blub itself when installing it, you are fine. But it probably would not hurt to wear gloves.

Just insert, and twist to secure it's tabs into place. Connect the harness and you are done.

The hardest part, depending on your car, is getting the cable harness/clip to detach. Mine for some reason just end up being on there really really tight.

Piaa is a very good brand. Nokya is good aswell.

Where have you found Nokya?

OEM or HID. Silverstars are a little brighter but blow out frequently.
