u may not need to do a water pump...but i would reccomend it since your goin that far. if it does on you, especially if you dont know how old it is, i would definately do it. and your car is past 10 years...it is a good idea...and timing should be done. even if your total not sure, its better than bent valves...ive had a belt break on me and it stinks and never runs good after that...without a serious repair

I can't imagine risking an entire engine off of a maintenance item I was too cheap to fix. Belts wear in 2 factors, age and use. In your case, after 10 years, the band tends to get more and more brittle with time. Don't forget your other belts too. The dealer offers a few packages for the timing belt. 1. Timing belt + water pump = $700-ish 2. Timing belt + water pump + all drive belts = $900-ish remember, there's more than 1 belt under the hood. |
