True...

BMW = Built for Luxury in Mind
Honda = Built for Economy in Mind

That's the difference.

wow,2700 bucks for those repairs.
Who raped theguy..

Im a faithfull BMW owner.Ive owned 6 Bimmers.
Some of the cost of repairs are higher thanthe hondas but there are enough parts on hondas that need replacing a few times in a cars life time vs. a BMW where it never needs to be touched.

As far as routine maint.
Yes BMW's are very expensive to maintain but its nothingthatyou need to go to a dealer for.

the water pump deal Suks!Ive been through it.

uuuulllllhhhh, just my kinda of topic here.

For starters I am a BMW enthusiast, but that doesnt mean that I dont respect, nor praise other cars.

Not to mention, they are as reliable as the sun rise every morning. Which might be a little stretch for BMW
For one, I have a good friend with a 95 325is with a little over 230k miles. The only MAJOR repair he has had to do is a headgasket at about 200k.

Nothing can replace you goin out and doing ur own oil change for under $15 and no hassles.
I dont let ANYONE change my oil. I do all myself for my M3. No its not hard, nor is it anymore time consuming than anyother car.

I am convinced, after talking to someone who has been a BMW technician for 25 years, that those cars are for people with money to burn, or people who don't drive very much.
I drive my car to school everyday of the week, and I have a FULL roll cage, Sparco EVO2's, 5-point Harness, C/O's, and 16lbs SSR Comps among MANY other mods. With all of that on my car, NO serious repairs at all.

wow,2700 bucks for those repairs. Who raped theguy..
I have a friend who has had a serious problem with hardwiring his V1. When the V1 was hardwired they connected it to the sunroof power supply, which in turn shorted out, and made his windows go CRAZY. After the first time in the shop they couldnt solve it and flew someone in from Dallas Texas to Winston-Salem NC just to fix this. Bill totaled almost 3k dollars, but even though it was user fault his CPO warranty covered all charges including the 7-day X5 rental vehicle. Talk about customer care!!!!

Almost ALL of my maintenece I do myself or I pay someone a TON of money to do the work for me, someone I trust. Yes I do spend a LOT of money on my car, not including the fact that my 4 year old car cost me more than 50% of the new cars available now. That doenst include the money I have put into the mods. I could have bought cars that most people just dream about. Its all what your goal is. Mine was to make an E36 M3 trackmobile, and i have, but at a cost. Do I regret one dollar, NO, i honestly dont. EVERY time i get into my car, I get a HUGE smile and am happy for the rest of my day. How many of you can say that about your cars. That is what I tell people when they ask why a 16yro has a car of this caliber. Hope that you get my point in all of this. Yes it has cost me an arm and a leg, but I could not be ANY happier.
