Default post tune-up enigma

Well, my car finally broke down and went to the shop. Leaking oil was indeed from an oil o-ring that needed changing. Got it tuned up too. But she still gets her temperature up after a 45 min drive. I was told by a DYI'er that I may need to change the thermostat. Make sense?
Appreciate the experienced advice.

Thermostat sounds right... and it's cheap to do.
