Which CD-r's can the Accord's cd player actually read?
I've tried a couple so far each at 4x, and the Maxell one's have been the "best" ones so far, taking only 7 minutes to be read....

what year? what trim?
My 98 EX cd player has played every CDr burned i put in it... CDrw's are a different story |
they work on my 03 just fine. Never heard of anyone with that problem :dunno:
|
My 05 plays any CD-R
|
I think it depends on how it was recorded, not just the type of CD-R.
Record 'disc-at-once' or something like this. And close the disk after writing, maybe your software calls it write-protect? I don't think the CD players can read a multi-session CD, so if you go back & add songs later to the same CD, it can only play what you recorded first-time-thru. |
you have to slow down your burning speed. if you're burning any faster than 16x, the pits that are put onto the blank cd are not as readable to a less sophistocated laser. its complicated to explain, but just slow down your burn speed and it'll work!!

I still use my 4x max speed hp burner heh and it does the job well n 17mins lol. play on 96 accord stock cd player with zero problem.
yes make sure cd is close / disk at once . |
So nobody else has had this problem?
I have a '99 Accord EX coupe well thanks guys |
I did have this problem with my original 98EX CD player. Definetly slow down the burning speed to 4X. I believe I used Imations or Memorex discs. Also, sometimes if you hold down the "+" button to fast forward, sometimes that will get a track to start playing.
I since upgraded to the stock 6cd changer deck in the 01-02's, this one reads any cdr and even reads cd-rws! |
the only cd-r's I ever had a problem playing on ANY player, are the ones with the dark blue or dark green backside. I don't know if anyone makes those anymore. I just generally stick to Sony or Imation cd-r's, and I haven't had any problems.
