I don't know how the generations go, and no i don't mean 94 97 because the 96 is different from the 94 and so is the 97. They changed the Tailights, in 94 the whole tailight was never a part of the trunk lid(Back). In 96 I bileave they put another tailight portion on that extended onto the trunk lid(back)
