My clutch fluid is all black, and it's making the squeaking sound

I just check my clutch fluid on my accord 6th 5sp, and i saw the black fluid. is this normal? The brake fluid is pure, looks like tea. Also, I heard a squeaking sound everytime I push the clutch pedal, I aslo heard some whistling noise like cricket too (coming from the transmission and the clutch assembly, i think). Please help.....

You should first get the clutch fluid changed (flushed), it's the same DOT3 fluid used for the brakes, it should be yellow-clear when new, it turns dark brown as it ages. If you get this done, do the brake fluid too, couldn't hurt anything.

The cricket noise could be the throw out bearing, could you be more specific about how and when it makes the noise?

mine made the squeaking sound and my throwout bearing spun really easily when i took it out as opposed to the new one that i had.

I more commonly see the "squeeking clutch" problem in Accords due to the master cylinder piston binding.

Black brake fluid or clutch system fluid is about 3 years/30k mile overdue for a full flush, except for 15+ year old cars with worn seals (which will turn new fluid black in a matter of days.)

I will post the pics of the part where it makes the cricket noise. When i put i foot lightly on the clutch, it stops. Basically, it stops while the clutch is pressed down to shift gears, when the clutch is released, the cricket noise continues, it's getting louder and louder. I have a schedule with the dealer next thursday but I would like to have your opinion first. I just dont want to get screwed by the service guy. Thanks for your input

typical throw out bearing.....IMO.

Throwout bearing problems occur when the clutch is in, not out. Usually a whirring noise or a pulsating pedal feel.

Nope mine only made noise when no pressure was on the clutch. I killed 2 this way, the second was do to improper lubing by the service tech.

Throw out bearings require no "lube" work at all, aside a minor input shaft lube on initial assembly. Not doing this minor lube will not "kill" the throw out bearing.

They only work when pedal pressure is on... do you work on your own car, or do you trust what your mech tells you?
