Timing belt replacement on Honda 2010 Accord
Hello,
I have Honda 2010 Accord EX-L V6. Last year, I went to Honda dealer to replace timing belt. They charged $1087. This week, they said I have timing belt tensioner is leaking. This is not part of timing belt replacement. They would charge me $880 to fix the tensioner. Does it make sense for the tensioner repair? I lost my receipt. I don't remember what timing belt replacement included. Please give advise.
Thank you in advance

Have the dealer pull up the receipt on their computer.
Check to see what was replaced. (the basic rule is replace: the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump; why? all those are easily accessible when replacing the timing belt. The parts aren't too expensive. But, it's the labor that costs you $$$.)
Also, what do they mean when they say "the tensioner is leaking"? (it's a pulley that rides against the back of the timing belt. Nothing to leak from that. Maybe, they meant the water pump is leaking?)
take care,
ChrisS
