Speaker Installation question.
I'm installing new rear deck speakers into my recently aquired 97 Accord SE and I have four different color leads, blue and gray on the driver side and orange and brown on the passenger side. Does anyone know which of these are positive and negative?
Use a volt meter. If the volt reading is positive then the positive and negative leads on the meter are on the corrosponding wires. If teh voltage reading is negative, the red lead is on the negative wire and the black lead is on the positive wire.

Any batt will do.
Connect both leads to the pos/neg on the battery.
If the speaker sucks in,... then the polarity is wrong.
If it moves out,.. the polarity is correct.

:nervous: :nervous: :nervous:  :ugh: :dunno: what if you dont connect the speakers to the right positive and negitive wire and some how you get them cross because i installed 6x9's and i wasnt sure what wire was to which so i teasted them out by which one made the speakers work and both ways worked so i just connected them without being sure if it was the wire to negitive and positive?:nervous: :nervous: :nervous:  :ugh: :dunno:

In your case,.. you need both!
If you have them hooked up wrong, then you're probably not getting the full potential quality/ sound of the speaker.
For instance, if a sub is hooked up backwards,.. then the base cancels out, meaning they are out of phase.
