can't start car?? WTF
 

Need some help guys. So i go try to start my car, and put the key into first position (i hear the beeping noise as usual), but when i turn to 2nd position none of the gauges have power. Then when i go to start the gauges all have power again, but the car cannot start. It just starts for a slip second then dies. The battery differently has plenty of juice. Anyone have any idea what going on? Do i have a short somewhere???

so it catches but dies immediately?
does it stay on when you just keep cranking it in the "start" position?
first things to check would be main relay (turn the car to II and right when the CEL turns off...one should hear a click)
next would be distributor, maybe ignition coil because that was what went wrong with mine.

Yeah it just immediately dies after, literally 1 second later.

If you can start, then don't release the key to spring back to 'on'. Instead try to hold it in some intermediate position where it stays running but the starter quits spinning.

If you can do that, it's a bad ignition switch.

if there is power in the car it could be the starter, if there is no power it can be the battery possibly the alternator

yeah it looks like the key switch :(
