I am thinking about getting some TYC black housing projectors for my 98 accord coupe....I searched the forum and still have some questions:

1) I heard that TYC no longer makes a projector for the 6 gen without a halo ring, is this true? What do you all think of just not wiring this halo ring up?

2) I have heard alot about H1/H3 bulbs. Does that mean the normal 9006/5 bulbs won't fit the housing? I just boughts some PIAA super whites a wcouple weeks ago

3) Does anyone have night pics of TYC projectors? I am looking for cut off and light output WITHOUT HID retro...not enough $$$ to do HID retro for now Double points if you have TYCvsOEM housing!!!!

4) Any TYC owners have problems with condensation?

5) Is there any way to remove those orange reflectors in the corners? I would prefer all white.

1) never seen a TYC headlight with halos.... those r the ebay headlights

2) no, 9006/05 will not fit

3) search the forum... i am pretty sure several ppl have posted this setup

4) yes, it condenses if u do not seal it properly

5) i guess u can do it, but i think it looks nice

 

i have had the TYC's for a long time now and don't have any condensation problems. I didn't mess with them, they are straight out of the box.

 

Do you have any night shots and/or comparison VS stock housing? Are you using the OSRAM bulbs that come with the TYCs? Did you seal them, have you had condensation problems?

I was told by my local shop that TYC's didn't come without HALO's now?!?!

 

TYC's never came with Halo's, nor do they use H3 bulbs. The ones on my 5th gen use an H1 for the low beam, and the 9005 for the high beam, dunno about the high on the 6th gen. Regardless of what some might say, I think you won't be disappointed with the output of these TYC lights. I'm using the european silverstar bulbs in mine, and I think the output is fantastic. Not as good as ecode projectors, but by far better than stock.

 

Can a 6 gen TYC user confirm this?

 

I've had the TYCs on my 6Gen Sedan and its true that TYC does not come with HALOs. Both the High Beams and the Low Beams use H1 bulbs.

 

I have a set of 6th gen TYC retrofitted with BMW M3 HID and Audi TT projectors. They're kick ass, if you want them, let me know. I never installed on my car since I never get the chance around to do the conversion. Plus I got into an accident (thank god I didn't put it on) and currently have may other projects needed to finish. So shoot me a PM if you're interested. :goodjob:
