Duals on a I4 arent a dumb idea. It all depends on the piping size that you get. If the pipings too big then yes a power lose will be felt. Mostly in the down low rpms. Which is what Hondas dont have. I myself have 2.5in from turbo back with no cat. Its a little small, with my open downpipe the car responded way better. Fast spool and lots of high end power. I got it fixed a little while ago. Although it sounds way better its noticable slower and the turbo takes longer to spool.

Im not sure if that artical in true, it sounds like it is. I know that my friend broke his header before he went to the track. He ran a better time then he did with his exhaust connected. It was a constant 13.1-13.3's. Before it was 13.5's-13.8's. Hes got a B20 swap in his CRX.

That would be considered a rice win.

Well regardless if I lose backpressure, Im doin dual exhaust. Thats really the only way my rear would look right with the Black Widow. Ive seen people cover up one of the exhaust openings and IMO I dont really like it. My car is slowwwwwwwwww anyway! haha

Damn i havent been on the board in months!!!

why not just get a rear bumper that doesn't have the cutout for 2 mufflers. the black widow rear is done to death and beyond.

im thinking of going a dual setup on my CL i4 ive seen it done a few times and done correctly looks and sounds great ... hell my cars slow enough i dont think im gunna really feel a 1-2 hp loss due to too much back pressure if its even the case so point and laugh all u want

you can do a dual setup on an I4, but in order to keep a consistant flow velocity you would need to decrease the pipe diameter from 2.25" (cat to y-pipe) to about 1.25", and try to maintain equal lengths after the split.

marshun 02-20-2004 03:06 PM

but then that would just be a waste of money to just have true duals. just spit it at the back already :P
