My car wouldn't start
Hey guyz,
Today, my car just went dead. This is the second time in a span of about a week. Basically, i would go to my car, stick the key in and try and turn on the ignition. But everything just goes dead. THere's no sound, power, anything. I can turn from the point where you insert the key to where the engine is suppose to start without any noise, action, or what have you. No lights turn on, radio is dead, power locks are dead. I then manually unlock the passenger door, open it, and slam it hoping it would rattle whatever was loose. I try again and it turns on. Any idea what connections may have been loose? Or where to even begin looking? I did have my passenger side door repainted and the body shop did take it apart to paint so my guess is in there but i thought i'd check with people here to get some ideas before checking fuses or wires on that door. Thanks. |
battery dying?

I've heard that the 94-95 accords have a bad ignition. What year is yours. And wasn't there a recall or something for the 97 and up??
|
yea ther was a recall

go check your positive and negative battery terminals. Make sure you have a clean contact on your Positive terminal. I bet that's your problem.

I agree with Old91CivicGuy, sounds like a loose terminal. Also, if the car had a car alarm and it was removed it may be a starter kill that wasnt pulled out nicely---- but Im guessing its the battery terminals....must be tight, must be clean.

if it does it only when its hot...you could have a bad relay. just turn your car to where your engine, abs, etc lights come on. when they turn off you should hear a light clicking noise. if you dont hear that, your relay is out. it will work sometimes and not other times.
