Stock shocks won't likely last long at that height. Look into some performance shocks, you'll be better off.

they could handle a 1.5in drop in an Eibach prokit, but honestly you should upgrade the shocks with the springs. if you or a shop are going to be doing the work to change the springs, might as well do the shocks so you don't have to do it again. don't cheap out on suspension, do it right the first time. why not get some coilovers? options auto salon is having a clearance on Apexi coilovers for about $400. Apexi is discontinuing the coilovers which is why they are so cheap.

Stock shocks are made for one thing, handling stock springs, I have an 00 accord too and I my suspension back in july and my mechanic showed me that my shocks had already started to leak a bit, and were only good for another couple years, and thats stock, combined with stiffer springs your just asking for problems. I always say, if your gonna do it, dont F**K around, do it right the first time. I got Koni Yellows and Progress springs, and its the best mod ive done to my car yet.

Stockers should be able to handle 1.5 inch on ProKits, like I have. I decided however to get some KYB shocks. I figured, well the wheel will be off, so it'll be easy to put the shock in. Besides, the KYB/Eibach combo>stock

I have eibach sports kit(2 inch drop) and stock shocks, and nothing has gone wrong yet. Oh, and thats on about 80k miles. Some springs are made to work with stock shocks (like the eibach line of springs)
