Intake installation question

Default Intake installation question

i just recently installed my intake on my 2k1 accord L4, and i was wondering how far should i shove the filter on the pipe? i tried it with the filter on about 1 inch on the pipe and the sound just doesn't sound right. i'm a noob so bare with me thanx for ur replies.

Just far enough for the clamp to hold it on with a little space behind the clamp. Probably about a quater of an inch.

well when i stick the filter on about 3-4 inches then it has the deep sound, but when i stick it so its just on the pipe then it just sounds wierd.

wierd as in? a whistling sound or not throaty enuf?
mines on about an inch becuz i made an adapter.

it could be just me, but I don't think it really matters as long as it's on tight. I have the AEM Short Ram Intake on my 02 Accord.

yea its more of a whistling sound until i hit vtec. but when i have it on about 3-4 inches then its throaty. only thing with having it on about an inch is the battery. the filter is jammed up against the battery.
