Default San Diego area gen 7 Accord coupe owners...

Hey guys, I came across these overlays for taillights and headlights that look pretty tight. Basically, the guy cuts vinyl to give your lights different effects. What I am trying to do is get some overlays made for the taillights of our cars. The problem is, he needs a car to get the exact measurements from. I would do it, but I'm way over here in North Carolina. So if there are any generation 7 Accord coupe owners out there in San Diego that are interested in being the "guinnea pig" for him, then we can have some overlays for our cars too. This would save us messing up our lights trying to use that spray tint shit.

Here is a link to the guy's site:

Here is a pic of what I wanted him to make:

Let me know if someone wants to do this. I think the options he can do are pretty tight.. and cheap too. Drop me an e-mail and let me know. joe@joerichter.com

In cali that is illegal to modifiy or darken your tailights. I also have gotten a ticket (I had 21 tickets on my CRX) for that in my CRX for modified tailights.

Just my 2 cents!

p.s. that does look good though on the accord!

Even just the strip in the middle? That's a little rediculous. I can see why doing the whole tail would be illegal.. but not the reverse lights. What about the VW's that have lights like that from the factory?

Well your not from Cali so how would you know. The cops here are the biggest a$$holes in the U.S. It don't matter if it is just the strip or the whole light, it is illegal. If it came from the factory it is not illegal, I bet your asking your self well how does the cops know that! Well in the bay area and So.Cal they have a special units just for the imports becuase of all the illegal racing. These cops know thies cars in and out no lie! When I use to race they blocked us in (200 plus cars) and when they looked over all the cars they knew right away what was illegal. Even when they opened our hoods. Cops in cali may be a$$holes but they do know there stuff on thies imports. They pulled me over so much they already knew my name, adress and so on.

That blows! I wasn't claiming to know how things are in Cali.. just was surprised at their relentlessness towards imports. I don't think the cops are that bad over here... shit, even neon license plates are still legal over here! hehehe If nobody over there is allowed to modifiy them like that, maybe I'll try to make something of my own. Thanks for the help man.

Yeah I didn't mean in that way, sorry bout that. A lot people still do all the illegal stuff to there cars over here, they are just taking that risk. It took me 21 tickets, two suspended license, and two years of probation to get the point. Now that I have a kid, I don't have the money for tickets I don't need. But If I didn't have a kid I would try it out though for sure!

Racing is an addiction and it is very hard to stop modifying your car and trying to keep it out of site of the police for illegal crap. But dam I miss thoughs days out in San Jose!

I've been in SoCal for 6 months now, many cops have seen my car. NONE of them have ticketed me or even mentioned my "illegal" european code headlights, which look nothing like stock headlights. Just MY .02
