7th gen accord getting repo'd
I left my girls house at 510am this morning and the car parked across the street from my car was getting repo'd by the marshalls office.
Since the car was parallel parked the tow truck driver was trying to slimmy the car. Do you believe for the 5 minutes I sat there warming up the car/ waking up/ watching him, he couldnt get the door open. Eventually I drove away and not sure if they got it. Either he is inexperienced or accords are being manufactored with some extra security |
I read something (maybe here) about accords having a new mechinism that was jimmy proof or at least close. Good to hear tho.

I guess that means that thieves will break the windows instead now...
|
lol true but thieves are dumb they still brake the windows with door open.

I heard from one of the bad kids aorund my way [( car thief , he knows not to touch my car or I will shoot him) seriously!] he said that they have like a metal piece thats horizontal to the edge of the window that if someone were to slimmy it, it will just slip past the point where it needs to grab the lock to unlock the door...is that true?
|
dang, i'm happy then!! last month my co-worker's camry got stolen right in front of our work in the middle of the workday (corporate environment). We were so pissed. Glad to know that Accords are not as easy to boost!

On my '88 Jetta, the thief broke the door handle off, and reached in and pulled the catch. The other two times (same car) the thief broke the rear quarter window out. (all this within one year!) My insurance co. almost cancelled me over that car. The door was easy to jimmy on it, so I don't know why theives had to smash things up, I can only guess it was quicker. Many years ago I worked at a VW dealer, and the salesmen were always accidently locking the keys inside, so I had to go get them out. Some cars were pretty easy to open without a key. My '92 Civic was ridiculously easy to get into. |
On one of my old hoopties I used to lose my car keys and instead I would hot wire my car just so i can make it home and get the spare. it was an 87 camry.

ohh, the door was easy to slimmy anyway..I made my own one ( Im not a car theif, I hate em and went to bookins for pistol whipping one of them ) out of a 2 foot long metal ruler.
Grabbed a dremel and designed my own.... = )... < light bulb went off in my head> maybe I should start my own locksmith service?....hmmm.... |
