Default spring question

how true is the measurment of a springs drop?
like when they say it is a 1.5...is it exactly? does the spring compress lower later and if so how much and how long does it take?
1.5 = 1 1/2
1.7 = 1 5.6/8 (between 5/8 and 6/8)
im wondering bc i am trying to decide between the neuspeed and the eibach.
i want the eibach for less tire wear, not really a need for the camber, and less stress on tire rodes, ball joints, etc.
if i go and put a 1.5 on there and it drops to like a 1.6 or 1.7 then there would be no need for the neuspeed. and if i get the neuspeed and it drop lower than 1.7 then ive went to low.
the neuspeed is 1.8 in the front which i like cuz the car on stock height is higher in the front and that would help even it out more. but it would mean more of all the negative effects i mentioned above.
1.5 and 1.7...is there really that big of a difference when it comes to needing a camber kit? i cant see it.
go with 1.5 and be safe and save money on stuff later or go with 1.7 and be lower? thats what i have to decide.
please help clear me up on all of my question, opinions, and assumptions.
thanks

In my opinion...the Eibachs are the best bet...nice conservative drop. I love mine.

I believe if you go lower than 2 inches you will need a camber kit.

anything over 1.5 - 1.75", you'll need a camber kit.

i have eibach sportsline (2inch drop) and i wear tires out within 15,000 miles. If you get a 2 inch drop you HAVE to get a camber kit in the front.
