Rotors and Brakes
Hey Guys I live in the LA area. Sherman Oaks to be more specific. I got a guy who has worked on my care quoting me 270 including labor to replace rotors and pads. Wut do you guys think ? I would do it myself but don't think my back can hang. So I am trying to see if this is a good deal or do I have any other options. He is replacing my rotors with new stock Accord Rotors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Take Care

Many Many and I say Many threads have been started regarding brakes & rotors.
Do a search and your answer will be solved. btw..I think 270 is to much for stock brakes and rotors. I got my brembos with pads for 270. |

get the most expensive autozone have, they are great and cost around $50, i think u paying way too much, all that should b like a $50 job. pads u can install them urself and even get the tools from autozone for free. u can get the complete upgrade kit from theaccordstore.com for under $200 and they better than stock.

you know what, i bought auto zone pads because mine where gone (sensor was rubbing) and i needed to wait till i was paid in a week and i regret not putting up with the squealing cause with-in 3 days of the new pads they where burning and i almost wreaked my accord due to my pads heatign up and no matter how much further i pushed the pedal my car didn't slow down anymore... needless to say i ended up changing my brakes shortly after... DONT GET AUTOZONE PADS... if you value your saftey or car !

AEM pads for sure...and they're really easy to but in too.
|
i had the AEM pads and they cracked with cross drilled rotors and so did the rotors i now have slotted rotors and ceramic pads and love them they hold the heat better

what do you recommend
As far as pads go ? Did you install the rotors urself ? Was it hard ? What tools did u use ? If you got them installed how much did it cost you ? Well thanks for your info.

yeah, imma have to agree with everyone here about autozone. They arent very good pads at all dude. I got a set of lifetime pads, and they create retarded amounts of brake dust. Plus, if you try to stop too fast you WILL (not maybe) have break failure after about 3 seconds. I would adive you to buy anything but autozone pads because they are very unsafe.

Anthony 98-present is the rotor over hub design so it's so easy you shouldn't pay anyone to do it. I replaced mine with Brembo OEM replacements and OEM pads. Cost me $100 for the parts (front only). |
I have Hawk street pads, stop on a dime.

For the people that had bad experiences with Autozone brake pads, I would like to know how much you paid for the pads and what brand it was. Autozone sell different brand brake pads ranging from $10 to $50. I bought the PFC-CARBON-METALIC pads (about $40) and I they work just fine.

all you gotta do is go to your local honda dealer and get ceramic pads they will cost you a little more but it is worth it
