Default Dealership recommended repairs Axel, Motor Mounts

Hello my 2004 Accord is coming up to 130,000 miles and its 11 year birthday.

A few months ago I replaced the rack and pinion at the dealership (yes overpriced I know). When they did the repair and on my most recent oil change they are recommending I replace the driver's side axel and the motor mounts. How will I know when I need these replaced? The car does not make any strange noises or handling problems. I wouldn't want the axel to break or the motor to fall on the ground, but wondering is the dealer is just trying to sell me stuff I do not need. They quoted me $600 for each repair.

Ask your local mechanic for a second opinion.

The axle clicking while turning is the usual sign of wear. A rip in either boot will cause the axle to fail eventually.

Take care,
