Popping/grinding noises in rear drum brakes

Tonight when I was driving for work my car suddenly started making popping/grinding noises from the rear left of the vehicle. It only occurs 25% of the time, and when it does happen it sounds like metal on metal contact as if the pads are gone in my rear drums. Problem is, I just replaced everything in my rear drums 2 weeks ago. New drums, pads, wheel cylinder, everything. It doesn't make the noise at all the other 75% of the time, even if i slam my brakes. Gonna pop off my drums tomorrow and take a look.

Update:

Okay got the drum off, found my problem. My car is a 4th gen accord by the way. The knob that holds the self adjustor lever onto the brake shoe has snapped. Completely broken off. Don't know why, but it did. More importantly, where the hell do u find one of these? Callin' some junk yards now,...hopefully don't have to buy one from the dealer for 27.34 plus tax...
