sounds like a flat, but isn't
it doesn't do it all the time, but my 96 accord, at around 65-70mph starts thumping like i've got a flat. i think the inner CV on the drivers side is fuX0red, but i'm not sure. any ideas?

Hey, Not sure if this can help, but My car did that and it turned out It was a steel braid inside my tire which was broken. Although the only way to tell if its a broken steel braid is to see if your car pulls or the steering wheel moves every time your tires make a full rotation. (go slow) If not that then its prolly what u said.

I've had expriences with tires that make a thumping noise. It could be worn or some such thing.

Rotate your tires back to front, and see if it goes away. Could be a flat spot.

definitely
I would say if its during corning as well its definitely the cv joint. Its so loose that when you are accelerating, it is making the cv off balance. Does it do it when you are turning sharp and gas it. It should. If not, maybe it is the tires. Turn your wheel completely to one side at a stop, and floor it, then do it the other direction. If it doesn't do it then, you got other problems. Good luck

i would agree to rotate tires. might be uneven tire wear. I did the same, and the sound was gone.
|
did you change your tires recently? Could be that its not on flush. thats why it might sound like a flat.
|
Maybe a wheel weight fell off your rim making them out of balance.
