Fuel level gauge isnt working, Help! (6th gen I4 Accord)

Ok, last nite I was drivin my car and the low fuel light came on, but the fuel gauge wasnt that close to the lowest level yet, so I jus kept on driving and the low fuel light blinked off. And when I came to another stop light, it blinked on again, and I ignored it and this kept happening at every stoplight I encountered. Then today, my sis drove the car and later, she calls me up and says the car suddenly broke down and was outta gas and she was stuck on the road, needless to say, she was really pissed at me. So after I gave a gallon tank of gas to the car, we drove the car to the nearest station and had it filled all the way. But the fuel gauge STILL was near the low level, WTF? So whats wrong with the fuel gauge and how do I fix it?

check if the needles are sticking.... if not, u might need to get a new gauge cluster

My gauges got did the same at first. It really hasn't screwed anything up, it's just that the needle needs to have enough clearance above the indiglows inlay. Just make sure that they the indiglow inlay is as flat as possible. You should be fine, it's just rubbing that's all. Good luck.
