Code for Stock Radio
I need to disconnect the battery to perform some work on my 94 2Dr LX 5MT Accord. (With Stock Radio/Cassette player).
If I understand correctly on reconnecting the battery the Radio will prompt me for a 5 digit security code. How can I find this code? I bought the car used from a private party ( I did not ask/receive any code as I did not know about it at that time). What should I do? Thanks! |
IIRC you can get the code from the back of the radio or from the dealership by providing your VIN and proof of ownership. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Yup, you have to pull out the radio, or they will charge you for labor tho!

Cool... but
Thanks for the info...
I was wondering what is the point in having a security code... and having it at the back of the radio itself... am I missing something...? However, I can understand the dealer method.... Cheers! |
the actual code isnt on the radio itself. Its just a reference code so the dealer can look up the real code in there computer

They can get the code from the VIN#, my car has been in a billion times and I know they never pulled my radio for the code.
That code is stupid...why the f would you steal a factory 15w x 4 radio from a car with a factory alarm when I could steal a brand new 45w x 4 Pioneer from the Kia up the street. |
