Door Won't Open!

Last night while celebrating St. Patricks Day my damn door broke. The locks work properly, the handles just don't engage the release to allow the door to open. Has anyone had this problem, if so, how did you get the damn door open to fix what I am assuming is some broken linkage. Please help.

does it not open from the outside or the inside. either way pop off your door panel and the rod thats links the handles to the lock just poped off. This happen in my sisters car (97 accord) and her window had problems rolling down. just check it out and pop it back on

the door doesnt open from the inside or the outside. How can I get the door panel off if the door is shut, isnt the panel blocked by the dashboard? This blows! Thanks guys

i didnt know that it didnt open from either side.
not sure how to fix that now.
call up honda and see what they say. maybe they will have a tow truck come and pickup the car to look at it at the shop

Well I can drive the car, I just have to go through the passenger side. Can't wait to get bent over by the dealer.

on my 4th gen, one of the doors power lock failed so now when u press unlock it goes half way up. what i found out was to force the lock switch upwards and when it reaches a point with enuf force, pull the handle (fron outside or inside, doesnt matter), and it should open. Hope this works!

Ok I went to the dealer, they gave me an estimate of $680 to fix the lock. Apparently since the door wont open they are going to have to break the inside door panel ($290), then they will be able to get to the lock assembly ($81) and open the door. Labor was estimated at $280. They couldnt do the work then and there because they have to order the shit. After a minute to let this sink in I almost passed out. I'm sorry but I am not going to hand a dealership almost 700 dollars to fix my door lock, its not going to happen. I understand these guys are just doing their job and they do not set their prices. Anyway, I told them that I do not have that kind of money(I really don't) and that I would have to go somewhere else to see if I could I get it done for cheaper. Thats when they got pissed. At that point they tried to talk me out of it,(they started talking sht about mom and pop garages) when they couldnt they tried to charge an hours labor to check it out. Thats when I had to make a scene. (it was oscar worthy) They did the whole "I am not raising my voice why are you" thing and please step into my office so my other customers cant hear me rape you and hear your screams from your ass tearing. Well I'm kind of screwed so it lookes like I will be getting in my car NASCAR style for a while, or until I figure out out to get the damn door open. Just needed to vent.
