6th Gen accord, just got my NEW tranny, but it's still not quite right....

i have a 2000 accord auto...just got the tranny replaced but first gear is still shifting funny...i know the tranny does the shifting, but does the ecu control the way it shifts? cuz it's shifting like the old tranny still..alot smoother...but it still wants to drag all the way out to redline before it shifts (it adjusted itself to do that because that's how i drove it lol), but at slow acceleration it shifts funny out of first gear...if it has to shift to second gear under 3,000 rpms it feels like it slips a lil bit, cuz it revs up a couple hundred rpms as it shifts...it seems like the ecu hasn't adjusted correctly yet and it's still making the tranny shift funny. It cant be the tranny, it's brand new...im thinking the shift timing is just off or something and it should smooth itself out as i drive it. I have to drive like a bitch for at least 600 miles or so, and the 1st gear slip will get annoying if i have to deal with it for that long. it actually shifts smoother when i push it...but i cant push it till i break it in....so is this an ecu/timing thing?

any honda techs out there that might know what the problem is?

found out what the problem was...they took out my old busted tranny and replaced it with somebody else's old busted tranny...it's even worse than the one they took out. They'll be putting a brand new fresh tranny in tomorrow. this one's still got the wrapper on it.

There aren't any new honda trannies all 4-speed honda trannies are remanufactured.

I had Honda replace my tranny in my 98 I4. The internal gears are brand new, but the case is not.

Since I work for a parts supplier to Honda were do you think the new trannies are coming from?

It may be wrapped and cleaned and polished but major pieces of that tranny are reconditioned parts. Trust me if no car is recieving that tranny there isn't a Honda plant or subcontractor making that tranny Japan or United States. Since Honda is a J.I.T. supplier there isn't such a thing as a J.I.T. New Old Tranny warehouse.

The major case and spline shafts are likely key pieces cast or forged at Honda factories, and those factories aren't casting new pieces for your out of production tranny--the same goes for Honda engines, there aren't any new old F-series or J-series(ver 1.0) engines to be had anymore.
