Default 01-02 coupe and sedan front bumper swap

Recently, I have been wanting to put the 01-02 coupe front bumper onto my 02 sedan. I did some searches on the forum and I am led to understand that the coupe bumper WILL fit my car. However, I called about four Honda dealerships and they told me that the 01-02 coupe front bumper WILL NOT fit on an 01-02 sedan. Three of them said that the two parts have different part numbers, so it just won't fit, because of different part numbers. I wasn't too confident in their reasoning. Then the last dealership I called said that they have different screw placements and such, so it won't be a perfect snap-on.

Are the Honda dealerships stupid and don't know what they are talking about, or will the coupe front bumper actually fit on a sedan without any modifcations?

Odds are they will be some modification, probably in the styrofoam crash absorber and/or brackets and screws and connectors. It's been done before, so it's possible. Honda dealerships are gonna tell you that there is no way cause 1. They don't really know cause they've probably never tried it, and 2. They want to cover their butt in case it doesn't fit.

well, you're going to need the coupe hood (since it's longer) AND the bumper. I don't know if the holes will line up

Yeah I know that I will need the coupe hood if I don't want a gap, but I just need to know if the screw holes on the coupe bumper will line up with my sedan. Does anyone know anyone who has done this, so that I could get a little bit more info on the swap?

I don't see why HONDA would make different holes. They would lose a lot of money change hole placement between coupe and sedan LOL. . I would go for it if u have the hood figured out.
