'96 Drum to Disk brake conversion possible?
Hey all,
I'm new here because i just got a '96 Accord LX I4 5 speed 134k miles a few weeks ago. The car was handed down to me, so i had no choice on package options etc. It has stock wheels with scratched up hubcaps, and i was thinking of getting some aluminum wheels, but the '00 prelude ones, for instance, don't work on my rear because i have drum brakes. SO..... I'm wondering if I can do a drum to disc brake conversion in the rear to allow some better looking wheels in the future. Is this common? Thanks, Adam |
the lude wheels don't work because the lude is a 5 lug pattern, your accord is 4 lug. There are plenty of aftermarket 4 lug wheels to fit accords. If you want OEM wheels look for some older Acura CL wheels(not positive on the years, but around 97-99). And you can do drum to disk conversions, here is the best thread i've found

If you need OEM parts from and accord, i just wrecked my 5th gen EX that had rear disks, PM me if you need the peices.

I've seen that drum to disk done on accords before but I dont know how much it cost. disks are a little more expensive to maintain than drums
|
how much for that rear disc conversion?

I made this offer already, but he turned it down, let me know what you think. $100 for the basic parts (arm, caliper, rotor) $250 for all that + master cylender, and e-brake cable.
Prices are negotiable Let me know its off a 94 EX i just wrecked :( |
