Be sure to have it inspected.
Make sure you take a bright flashlight with you to do a quick check for rust under the car (inspection should do a more intence check for this). Listen for any odd noises during the test drive. I've driven a 89 LX (carbed) once and the steering wheel was SUPER easy to turn when the car was stoped. Once it got up to speed it seemed like the power steering shut off and I could fell the road alot better.
Very nice cars for how old they are! probly some of the best cars fom the 80's

sounds like a good deal as long the miles are real and probably they are since u did a carfax on it

try to get them down to 2000 or as close as you can, but if you buy that car, you won't regret it, they are great cars...i had an 89 dx (carbed version)( yours is fuel injected) and it was a really solid car....

I used to have an '86 LXi. Nice little car, it gets you where you need to go. The A20A engine has a little bit of spunk, too.:)

Check out www.kbb.com under "Used Car Retail Value". That may give you a good idea...

Use private party sales values. Used retail is the price to buy an excllent condition referbished car from a dealer lot, it is not representative of buying a car from an average Joe down the street. Private party values are usually one to a few thousand lower then the retail value on the same car.

You're right...my bad. I thought he was buying from a dealer. You cans always get a better deal through an individual.

i used to have an 86 lxi, it wasnt the quickest car, but it was very reliable and easy to service. check out www.3geez.com for more 3rd gen info
