Got my struts/springs on!!! Some Q's, and future plans...
Hey peeps, well yesterday I got my suspension in (KYB AGX, Neuspeed Sports, and progress camber kits) man I must say, that was the best money I've spent on my car since the exaust. The drop is oh so nice, and the handling is 1k times better. Now that the 4 x 4 problem was solved here are my plans, leave me some recomendations...
1. Paint and put the eyebrows on I ordered, get windows re-tinted to 15 or 20% 2. Take off my gun-metal tezza's (see pic below) and put on cleared out OEM tails 3. S/T sway bars (bend exhaust piping to fit it properly) 4. Strut bars, yay or nay? 5. Save for h22/5 speed swap (hopefully I can make enough to get it done this summer) Sound good? Any other small shit I should throw on to improve it soon? Also, I'll be sure to post some updated pics ASAP (when the springs settle completely) http://images.cardomain.com/member_i...06_14_full.jpg |
strut bars-phat phuckin yay!
even if you get cheapo ones, its still worth it (jus remember to keep tightening all the screws) |
I speak from experience only
S/T Sway bar gives you so muchhh better handling. But bend the pipe is  if you couldn't get the sway bar, at least a front upper strut. GET he neuspeed because of the way it's mounted > any other strut bars H22 swap? If you think you can hand at least $3500 off hand and a lot more after that (minor problems and stuff) then go for it. If you do not require to go any faster [aka race] than it already is now, then I do not suggest you put money into it. Since it requires a lot of dedication, effort, work, caring, and $$$$. Ask any other Hybrid members and they'll tell you, it's a lot of work that you have to put in constantly. :) Now I do not even want to drive my car around all the time. I often drive my gf's 94 Accord with EXACTLY same mods just w/o the H22 swap + N20 and still able to hit 100+ on occational funs :D Paint the car or the eyebrow? Btw, I never dig the eyebrow thingy, but if you ordered, and will put on, then paiting it to match you car's color is a must. I DO NOT have any hates or against the Euro Clear tail lamp, but that one of yours will look better on darker car. :) But do not waste your money buying another set of stock's red and clear just because people said that they hate your tail. I had my S-Type CLEAR for my 94 accord a long time ago, now I grew tired of how it look and so stood out on my black car. But I'm not gona spend any money to buy a stock one back on. I wish that they had the blackhousing when it first came out. So I'll paint the cover to match my car color, leaving 2 circles for the brake/signal and an upper thin line for the reverse signal - [reverted] R34 look alike :) You can save all the money for other mods and maintenance. Such as Intake, header, decent sound system, new set of tires - very costly :(, etc |
Nice work.
Keep working on suspension, loose the tails, and don't put on the eyebrows. :) |
Well, as for the tails, I still have my stock ones, so I'll clear out the top and throw em on. I'll probably get some strut bars next. Should I get front upper, rear upper, and rear lower, or just FU, and RL. I already have AEM cold air intake, and a DC header, so I may get some unorthodox pulleys to finish up the engine. Maybe do some ignition work...
As for the H22, I have been thinking about it lately. I was thinking maybe I'll ride this one for a while, maybe rebuild it in a year or so... I really hate when shit goes wrong with the car, so I don't want more coming. I busted a hole in my radiator a while ago. Had to buy a new one. Replaced my CV boots. Brakes are almost dead, and just replaced my tires. Even though thats all pretty minor stuff, It messes up my work/school/money schedule, don't need more of it messed up than nessecery, so I probably won't do the swap. thanks for the feedback guys, keep it coming. Pics up in a day or two of my drop. |
jus get all of the strut bars and shat.
im really confused how you clear out the amber, thrs plenty of tutorials but not enough pix, like why would u use a soldering iron, thrs no wired involved? thanks |
you've got a good platform to start with right now.
just do these things. 1. Fix the common problems first, IE: brakes, cv joints, etc etc. 2. get rid of the altezzas: burn them, run them over, sell them to some stupid teenager, i don't care just get rid of em. 3. get rid of the rims too. are they 16's with low pro tires? I'm sorry but they just don't look good IMHO. Everybody has them, and everybody wants them they're a fab just like altezzas and wings. Find some decent BIGGER rims too :) and some stock alloys for winter usage. 4. If you plan on modifying the F22, keep doing it, cuz all the money you've just spent on the motor would've been a major waste if you were going to go H22. 5. If you're going to still go the H22 route in the future, then do NOT get a Strut bar until you get the motor, this way you know what fits and what does not. Still get rear strut bar, and sways as you like. But wait on the front until you know exactly what you are going to do in the engine bay bcuz they are a pain in the ass to take out once on. 6. Once you are prime and ready, then go all out on building the H22. Then you'll be faster than me or even Nightshade :) |

Just look at the tail light, You can see 4 little orange clips on each of em, on the back. Un-clip those, then somehow (however you want to) break the orange piece into a lot of little pieces and pull it out. |
Good work!! I would have gone for a little more drop, but I understand because of clearance issues that it is not always practical. As said above, the tails gotta go. I think some blackhousing headlights and a CF hood would look badass on your car.
