I just had a problem in my 1990 accord wit h the blower motor. it would sometimes turn off suddenly, and then a couple of days later magically turn back on by itself. So, I took the blower motor out of my car (it is located under the dash behind the glove box) and I took a piece of wood and tapped and tapped and banged it. a whole wack of crap came out of the exhaust thing. by breaking up the carbon and grit built up in the blower motor, everything seems to work fine now. check out this link, it may help with the pain in the ass removal.
