2003 Accord Sedan LX with AT (transmission trouble)
My coworker has a 4-month old '03 Sedan LX with AT5. He said that when he drives the car, it may have a sudden push (as if you press down the acceleration pedal) during normal city driving (less than 45 mph). During the drive, the check engine light stays ON the D light on the AT5 indicator blinks green. When the car is idle, the check engine light is ON, the D light will keep on blinking green although the gear is in P position.
Do you guys know anything about the possible cause of this problem? He has an appointment to have his car checked on 11/5/03 but he is very curious to know about the possible cause.
Thanks.

Check engine light=maybe make sure the gas tank is closed(has to click three times) :dunno:
definitely get it checked out...I have heard about one tranny failing from a guy on V6P...it kinda does sound like the tranny is slipping to find a gear...

Problem solved!
Okay, here is the answer to the problem. You guys probably won't believe it
Honda mechanics said that they found a dead rat.. yesh... a mouse... a freakin MOUSE!! :madfawk: inside the transmission. It appears that the rat crawled into the transmission, bit some wires off and then got stuck.
Honda charged him $181.00 for the service because they claimed that it is not covered under warranty.
I was gonna ask my friend to get the proof i.e. asking for the dead rat to be handed to him... but he looked too pissed off

After I finished laughing about this one, I smelled bullshit.
There could have been gnawing on some wires or something like that, but there is no way a mouse CLIMBED INTO the transmission.
Please get back with us and let us know if they showed him the rat or the any of the damage. They are required to call him and ask him to accecpt the charges if he only brought it in for warranty work.
