2000 Honda Civic & Jack Stands...
Quick question: I want to use jack stands in the front of my car, if I put the jack stands at the jack points behind the front tires, where should I jack the car up at? I know in the rear the tow hook is good - I found that out when I did a search, but no info on the front. Thanx!
Yes, I probably should either know this or be able to figure it out, but why take a chance when there is a wealth of experienced people on the boards that can tell me 100%! |
Read the cars manual

you can jack up the front using the tow hooks or just right in the center using the rad support

Anything that is the chassis pretty much, but the radiator support is probably the easiest place to jack it up.

i use the radiator support to jack it up and put the stands on the supports behind the front tires

If you look under your front bumper toward the middle driver side, there are two bumps that stick down, that's the jack point on the front (need a real jack though, not the spare jack in your trunk. If you need major height, you can move the jack all the way under and jack on the rear enging subframe (where your lower control arms attach).

I was looking for front jack points for my 2000 civic too. I saw on this forum that the front points are the tow hooks and under the radiator support. I tried the tow hooks. It got twisted/bended. I'm hesitate on trying the radiator support because I don't know the exact point. I took a picture of the point that I found. It looks like it but not sure. I included the picture with this post. Is this the jack point?

Thanks guys! I actually ended up using the tow hooks, they worked great.

Damn, I had the same question. Glad someone started a thread on it. I am much more confident now.
Joeblack, thanks for the pic |
