you have to take out your rear seats, take off your rear side panels, so that u can take the top panel where the speakers are mounted. Thats how i did it. Its time consuming, but i think its the only way. If anyone knows a better and easier way, suggest it. Good luck.

on a 2000 civic, you do not have to take the rear seats out...you only have to do that on the 7th gens. You need to pop the back deck cover off. Its pretty easy. All you have to do is grab some needle nose pliers and squeeze the clips from the bottom (in the trunk itself) and then push them upward. Once you do this to all of the clips, the deck will pop up, and you'll have access to the speakers.

its not that hard once you get the hang of it....although, I must admit, the first time I did it when I wasn't 100% sure of what I was doing, it was a total pain in the ass.

The idea of putting the seat down and going through the trunk to pop all the lil plastic snaps worked the best...i faced a lil trouble when i started becuase i realized my car has seat harness additions on the back pannel so first i had to remove them. After i got all three of them out i was able to put the seats down, open the trunk and just lye on my back, then i started pushing the white snaps through and POP it was off...Be Careful though of the brake light wires...you need to unhook them before you can fully remove the piece....
