Default screwed up paint

I was getting gas the other day and I was on an outside pump, so there were no pumps on the other side of my car. I go into the gas station to pay and come out and there is some clear liquid on the trunk and a bit on the roof. I just thought it was water and shrugged it off. There were no people around, but a few people were filling their tires at the air pump which was about 15 feet away. The liquid was on the opposite side as my gas tank. I looked at my car today and the clearcoat is all screwed up. It peeled the paint off around my tail lights also. It looks as if the liquid infused with the clearcoat creating permanent runs that you can feel. I'm so pissed right now. I haven't had the car a month and already this crap happens; it drives me insane. I don't know what to do or where I'm going to do.

Would it be a ton of money to get the clearcoat cut and buffed and repainted around the tails? I would also need a new clear put on the section.

Take it to a good body shop, and decide if it's worth the money. If not, wait a year, get a lip and paint that at the same time you repaint the car... Not sure what to tell ya...

This is just a suggestion. Try to wet sand the spots where the clear is messed up with 1500 grit sand paper and the get some good buffing compound and buff it really good just be very easy on the edges and corners so you don`t burn through the paint. It should take the runs out of the clear and clean it up to where you`ll never notice it.

You'd have to see what this crap has done to it. It just looks like permanent runs, but it shouldn't be TOO expensive to fix. I'm considering selling the car for an integra anyways.

Honestly, I'd love to have a teg. Sad to see a sol leave the family, but you can't go wrong with a teg. They handle great, WAY less body roll and chassis flex, and WAY more aftermarket support. Too bad everyone and their mother has one.

LOL! One of my best friends owned a teal LS, then when he went into the army he gave it to his mom!

So literally, everyone and their mother...

yea, a couple of my friends have one, nice cars, but way too common. i looked into getting one before i settled on my Sol, theres just something cool about having a niche car. but you wanna talk about cars everyone has these days, look at eclipses even the spyder is getting alot of buyers. im not the only convertable on my block anymore.

but im still the best!

oh yea, about the paint... either get it done really soon to stop any spread. of just dont let it get to you and when you replace or get hit in a parking lot do it then. we had a big dent on the front right quarterpanel of our c280 benz and sure enough, about 3 months later an uninsured underage driver hit the front right bumper and we had them by the balls. got it all replaced and repainted from their wallet.

I hate the body roll! I love how the 6g2d handles stock. It's just so tight. With the rear swaybar and mugen front + rear strut, do you think I could get some much better handling without all the roll? I really like the Integra, but the Del Sol is just so awesome. What really kills me is the leakage. Not from the roof, from under the glove campartment. Not the drainage tube, not the AC [haven't used AC in a month] Since this happens, my seat rails are rusted, but my floor really isn't.

Also, the roof leaks a bit still and I hate to see any passenger leaning toward the front of the car not to get rained on
I did the roof tightening mod, but I think my washers were too thin. I also thought Honda fixed the roof in 95... maybe I need to take the car in for a recall?

oh and my car is rebuilt so the headlights and corner lights are about 1 cm off. the rest is pretty much perfect. all that was replaced was a fender and some airbags, no frame damage.

I have already found some great prices on Integras and a 240SX all with much lower milage than my car.

I don't think there is a 6th gen teg. I have the leaky roof too and the area by the passangers feet. It has something to do with the seals around the door, I'm sure, cause I saw watter drippng from that area.

Yes they fixed the seals in 95 but even the older ones got that fixed as well.

My sister had a 240. Nice car, but not my taste. Seats felt low, but the car itself felt like I was in a high car. Hard to explain, you'd have to drive it. Steering is really tight. Handles awesome. Lots of aftermarket support, but not as much as a Honda. Great platform to work with, but the stock engine is crap. You may have lots of electrical problems as well.

I just want my car to handle better. I found someone to sell me the GSR LCAs and Swaybar for a nice price. Will this fix all that body roll I get? I'm also getting Mugen front + rear strutbars. I just want my car to be able to handle at least as well as the 6g2d coupe.

I'm not gonna sell my Sol. It's way too fun and way too unique, but I am going to convert back to a different bumper. I just think this fiberglass was a $300 waste. All I do is worry about it. I'm thinking of a racing series polyurethane bumper or stock. Whatever I get it CANNOT be fiberglass. I can't believe how much fiberglass sucks.

I could probably use some help from the Bakeoff right now and how to fix my leaks. I would also like to convert to the 96+ Del Sol all black interior instead of my two tone. There's so much I could do with this car, there's no reason to sell it.
