Default Shifter Rattle

I have a 92 VX and a DC short shift. The part where the shifter attaches to the shift linkage it rattles. If i tighten up the bolt to stop the rattle the shifter doesn't move freely, its bounded. But if i make it so that the shifter moves freely then it rattles. I was able to get one washer in there but thats it. Is there anyway i can get rid of the rattle and still have my shifter free moving??

Shifter rattle is usually something you have to just deal with. Sorry.

i bought a ebay shifter and put it on. It rattled so bad, so what i did was where the shifter connected to the linkage i used a grease gun and covered that and the heat shield from the resonator. This worked pretty good only time it rattles is when i let off in 2nd and the shifter hits the heat shield but when i get my new exmag2 there wont be any resonator on there
