Default Civic SI (canadian)

Will not driving over the winter months have any negative affects on a relatively new motor.I have 3000KM on it at present

I dunno. I didn't drive my car all summer while I was on the road. It was fine when I got back. I left the negative batery terminal off the whole time so my radio's "anti-theft" blinking red light would not kill my battery like last time.

theres a section in your owners manual that tells you how to prepare your car for not driving it for a month or more.

And i thought i had read that "owner's manual" from cover to cover.Right before my eyes.Thanks

Not driving a car for that long is bad. You should try to take it to the grocery store atleast once a month so the seals don't dry out.

Just make sure that you change the oil before parking it for a long period of time.

all i do for the winter is,.i start the car like once a week and leave it idling for 15 mins or so,...when winter is over,..i change all my fluids,...i change the oil,..flush and fill the radiator (you should also do this before winter starts also),...i do tranny fluid also
