Mike and any other SCCA Solo2 vets...an acquaintance of mine is very upset over the official results of a Solo2 event. His rant is below...what do you guys think? I've never had anything like this or heard anything like this in the San Diego Region SCCA.

Today we had an autocross event. I run in OS, or SM as they call it. We ran, i checked the OS listing and for the very first time i came in 3rd place. I was gonna get a trophy... I had beat everyone else in OS. So i waited around for the final run groups to finish and then the timing chick comes up to me and says
"your del right?"
"yeah"
"well, we are only awarding trophies for 1st-3rd place"
"COOl, cause im in third"
"uh, no your in 4th"

I was like WTF.. So i walk over to the table and these people are all hunkered over the table talking and i ask what the hell is going on.. I beat everybody but 2 people in MY RUN GROUP and class... Well, it looks like one guys car blew up so he jumped in another car, registered as OS and beat me by .3
Heres the bull**** part. He didnt run in the OS group.. He ran in a different group. Also, his time that he supposedly beat me by that the computer had printed out was scratched out and had another time hand written in... So can they do this ****... Basically what i believe happened is this guy is a local favorite among everyone. he knows the timing chicks. He just ran in NO class whatsoever, and when he was done, placed his time in a class where he would trophy.... Its just bull****. This is the 3rd or 4th time me and joel have been ****ed out of a good finish... Everytime joel would come close to having a good outing, he would get good clean runs.. when they posted them on the internet they would always have a cone added to his score out of nowhere.....
So i have decided to quit this **** because when it comes down to it, i dont know the people who put on the event so i seriously doubt i would ever be able to win with cheaters running the ****ing event.

OOHHH, and another example.... ONe of the main guys was running on the track, well he spun early on his last time out and just right near the end his ****in buddy ran out and red flagged him for some bull**** so he got to run again...

anyways, **** scca and all that other bull****... fun while it lasted.

Hrm that does sound shady to me. Have you talk to the Solo II Board Chief? Or Autocross Chief? Unsportsman-like conduct has no place in SCCA or any other racing club.

You can protest by going to those people and see what happens. It is up to you though to keep a cool head when present your evidence or misconduct.

It took me 2-3 years to get into the "circle". I got into that circle because I started beating all the veterans on STREET TIRES! Plus I'm very friendly and easy to approach.

Don't quit though - you will just show them they won and you lost again. Keep your chin up and keep driving. If you get first (which you are close to getting already) you can prove that you are the better driver AND better man for not having to cheat. But also keep a cool head on your shoulders.

 

im not fond of the SCCA politics. i don't understand how so many pricks are attracted to each other.

btw, i dont mean pricks to me specifically, i just watch how they are to all newcomers, it just aint cool...

 

Yeah I see the same thing, but there's also guys like me and my friends who talk to everyone that comes to our autocrosses. There's the old mentality of people don't want to change, and then others who have no people skills.

You have to realize you will get that where ever and when ever you go to different car functions. I got the same attitude from drag racers. There are also plenty of those people where I work. So once you get past arrogant snots you meet people like me

Prime example is this past weekend. One of the computers was malfunctioning, and the only person who was able to fix it was our Head Autocross Chief, but he was about to do his run. So he had to get out of his car, take off his helmet to help. Well someone mentioned over our chief's shoulder than one car didn't get a time. Our autocross chief turned around and said "Shut Up!" I should have said something but I bit my tongue.

 

werd, i work with the same dumb bastards at best buy over the weekends...they come to me and instill in me their knowledge of the power of Honda...as if there is no other...and what they're telling me....is wrong.

I went to a brit autoX once, those guys were actually pretty cool, and some of em were beating the living piss outta their cars, which was also cool.

 

Hmm, another reason not to get off my lazy butt and to an autoX. Not to mention I'll be in SM and all the detroit-area Vettes will eat me alive.

But yeah, I'd definately contest that. If not for the trophy as much as shaping up your local SCCA club.

 

I can't stand punks in the import scene. I hate when they lie about mods and 1/4 mile times. the worst is fags that you ask about their car and they mumble some bull sh!t like they're to cool to like their own sh!t.

if I wasn't such a nice guy I would have pimp slapped alot of em many times.

 

I always say "Meet me this weekend and run against me". I haven't had a single person take me up on it yet
