Default ZC Cam in D16Y8?

Still new to this whole Honda thing, so will a JDM ZC camshaft work in a Y8? A Y7? What do you guys recommend? Will it add any power? Or Should I just stick with my plan to get a Crower stage 1 cam?

I know but they take work to make them fit right? The JDM ZC rods handle up to 200hp I'm told, and that's enough for what I plan on doing. It's gonna be an all motor Y8 for the street, not racing. I just want to adopt Mazda's Zoom Zoom philosophy.

Actually, the car is just damn slow and I want to do something about that.

What was the ZC Motor in originally anyway?

the zc rods are good but 200hp from a d16y8 either at the flywheel or to the wheels will not be very streetable. meaning it wont be very reliable to drive daily. and im talking NA.

Actually I'm thinking more along the lines of 140-150 HP (Hopefully whp!). If I don't make those numbers though I'll live, I just want my car to have a little more power than now. It's really pathetic right now

I've heard that Delta can regrind stock cams (if you don't mind the downtime or have an extra bumpstick) for $65-85... Some say a 272 is real good but, will idle rough.

regrinds should be the last option, since they regrind the cam, the cam itself loses "meat" on the lobes where power used to be.

Don't worry, I'd never do a regrind. I know something about cars, it's just that I know nothing about Hondas.
