broken camshaft
Well, another setback in the project 2000 civic si turbo today. Here is a little background...greddy turbo "kit", crower rods, JE "turbo" pistons (gold coated), crane cams, bigger valves, blah blah blah...you get the idea. Today it was driving fine at about 70mph and all of a sudden it quit. Well, it was towed back to my garage and when we pulled the valve cover there was the broken exhaust camshaft. It only had about 1,00 miles on it. I have pics but I couldn't figure out how to post them. Anyway, looks like we will be pulling the head for the 4th time. Getting good at it.

Not sure if it was a bad cam or if there is a bigger problem that caused the cam to break. Should know today since we will be pulling the head most likely. There is also the possibility of bend valves due to the exhaust valves staying open all the time on 2 cylinders while the motor was turning over. Hopefully the pistons didn't hit them. As far as the name thing....I will change it if someone will let me know how.
