Possible to switch intake manifold from b16a to b18c1?
Looking into skunk2 intake manifolds for my b16, but I don't know if i'll be able to hook it up to future gsr motor, are all b series motors' parts pretty much interchangeable?

Funny you should mention this, I just read an old article in one of my magazines (the same one with the Lotus vs. Mustang article) about a guy with a Frankenstein B-series engine - he had a B18A block, B18C5 head, and B16A intake manifold. So yeah, you should be ok.

Stay away from the b18c1 (GSR) manifold. Damn secondary runners....
|
the b16 manifold will not fit. even if its aftermarket. different bolt patterns.
|
We've got one vote for "it will work" and one vote for "it won't work," so which one is it? Yay or nay?
|
nay. the b18c5 head is the same as a b16 head and both are different from a gsr head.
|
That is right. The b16 head and the type r head have the same intake manifold bolt pattern. Thus the gsr head having its own bolt pattern.

You're right - I just confirmed this myself. I guess the guy in my magazine redrilled..?!? Who knows. Sorry for the misleading "yea" though.

LOL! I misread my own post. I thought I had written C1, not C5. But I have a friend whose dad had a 93 Prelude S with a B18C1 in it (long story), and he mistakenly thought the B16 manifold would fit. It didn't, and he was luckily able to return it.
