power window problem

I did some searching but couldn't find what i'm looking for or what seems to be my exact situation.

I have a 97 civic EX with power windows and the driver side front window will not roll back up. It doesn't move at all and i don't hear anything inside the door. the passenger windows work fine as well as all the locks.

I checked the fuses, and as far as i can tell they look OK, although i could be looking at the wrong ones. Would anyone be able to post up a link or diagram of a 97 civix ex fusebox panel to i could be sure of what fuse does what?

If anyone has any other ideas of what else i can check, the info would be very much apreciated.

thanks :)

Maybe the motor died?

figure that is possible, but i'm hoping that's not the case and verifying other possible issues first while crossing my fingers that it's just a fuse or such

try hooking up power directly to the motor, look for red/yellow and red/blue wires going from the window switch. this is what the helms manual says to do: connet the blu/blk terminal to the red/yel terminal, and the red/blu terminal to the blk, then turn the ignition switch on. if that doesnt work then it could be dead motor or open in the wire somewhere

hey is anyone hosting the helms manual for download anywhere?

Well, i found some semi good news, looks like the motor is fine, seems to be a short somewhere in the wire because i got out of work this afternoon, closed my door, started her up and tried the switch, it worked.

opened and closed the door again, no work

repeated, worked again.

now to take the door apart when i have time over the weekend to find the short :D

Civic Passenger Side PW Switch Problem

Hi

I guess my problem is somewhat similar to yours. I have a 99 Sedan and the problem is that front passenger side power window switch does not work when you want to roll it up. The passenger side switch work only when you want to roll it down but never when you want it up. I always have to roll the window up from the driver side whenever some one else is sitting besides me.

Any idea what might be the issue here?

I'd say, take the door panel off. Check for voltage before and after the main switch and limiter switches. Intermittent problems are usually bad connections.
