brake light
the switch on the parking brake lever that controls the gauge cluster indicator might be faulty, or maybe the wire might be pinched somewhere and is shorting to ground on some metal part of your car.
pull the center console and tap the switch a few times, see if it causes the light to come on when it shouldn't. if so, replace the switch. if not, time to start tracing the wire looking for damage.

You also may have a tail light out, the brake light comes on to warn you. Same thing as your blinkers working overtime when one is burnt out.
