Swaping b7 with z6 SOHC VTEC -- WHAT ECU????

So what ecu should i use? Someone said the p28 which seems to be common but isnt that for DOHC?

If your car is a '98 (what it says under name) you will have to use a P28 (which is a SOHC VTEC ECU from the D16Z6) but your going to have to buy an OBD II to OBD I conversion harness. There is also the ECU from the D16Y8 but with a D16Z6 engine, you won't have the OBD II sensors (specifically the crank position sensor) nessicary and will have a check engine light.

Where do you see '98?

If the engine is OBD-I, from a 5th gen, you need a p28, but no OBD-II to OBD-I harness, like Crucial said.

there was also an pbd2 p28, so make sure no one is ripping you off. but yes, the obd1 p29 is what you want. It's the ecu that came from the factory with that engine.
